Macedonian Wedding

Wedding comp

This is the first Macedonian Wedding I have photographed and it was truly awesome. I covered the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready from ten in the morning and my assistant covered the ‘boy’s getting ready. Their getting ready though comes with a tradition of a three course meal, gifts, partying and dancing! The wedding was held in the little Macedonian church on Angove St, Perth and the priest was quite the most delightful man. Throughout the ceremony, which was very long and entertaining, he would halt proceedings if he considered some photos needed to be taken. He didn’t mind me moving around and catching the moments too. There are many traditions which are quite magical – the crowning of the bride and groom being one of them. Would I photograph another Macedonian Wedding if asked? Yes, in a heartbeat. It was a truly joyful day and evening. The couple had their reception at Matilda Bay and danced for half the night. It was so memorable. I loved every minute of it.

Engagement
EngagementSarah and Brenton’s engagement photo session was a real treat to photograph: we all just had so much fun as they showed their deep love for each other. We went to several locations – the beach near Applecross  – Blue Water Grill grounds (great for a coffee to get started) and ECU campus.  I just love these types of photo sessions – who wouldn’t!  If you’d like me to photograph you on locations of your choice, just give me a call.

Without love, what are we worth?  Eighty-nine cents!  Eighty-nine cents worth of chemicals walking around lonely.  ~M*A*S*H, Hawkeye

Saturday the 29th November was a day to remember. It was Taryn and Matt’s wedding day and it was a gorgeous day in the Sunken Garden at UWA. These funny, quick-witted couple were awesome to photograph wanting only a very relaxed approach; nothing too posey or unnatural. They wanted the special moments recorded and I love these kind of weddings. They were so amazingly generous too. I was included as a ‘real’ guest and had a place setting on a table with their friends and was treated to every course offered – including a Mojito – my fave! The food here at The Wild Fig, Swanbourne, was outstanding and such a fab venue. Champagne cocktails, Mojitos and canapes were served as the sun was setting. The vibe was perfect. Thank you Taryn and Matt so much for your kind generosity and for loving the images which I processed yesterday (the following day) while I was still so excited about the imagery. They were really impressed. See, that’s what you get for looking after the photographer!!! Nothing is worse than waiting weeks – or even months (so I have been told) to get your wedding photographs. Congrats guys – may you have a wonderful life together.

Kat and Graham’s recent wedding was a pleasure to photograph. Caversham House is a great venue with lots of different places to photograph. My second-shooter, Anthea Auld, did a great job. We are both Canon ‘girls’ which makes life a bit easier when amalgamating the images. My favourite lenses are the L24-70 and the 100 macro. I’m about to start on the album now…  can’t wait!
